King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has announced that Saudi women will be granted the right to vote, and the White House is beaming with joy! Abdullah went on to say, “We refuse to marginalize the role of women in Saudi society and in every aspect, within the rules of Sharia.” (Notice the qualifier there.) He went on to say, “Balanced modernization, which falls within our Islamic values, is an important demand in an era where there is no place for defeatist or hesitant people.” (Again, notice the qualifiers, “balanced modernization” which “falls within our Islamic values.”) [Source]

The White House is beside itself with joy now that the king has taken this monumental step in recognizing women’s rights, but don’t you think their celebratory stance is a bit premature? To begin with, Saudi women will not be able to vote for another four years. A lot can happen in four years my friend. A lot. In addition, they will only be able to participate in local elections. Let us not forget that Saudi Arabia is not a democracy. It is a monarchy. The king is not elected. Any local “elections” that the Saudi women may be able to participate in (remember, this “right” doesn’t take effect for four years) are meaningless because the monarchy has the final say. And even if they still retain this new found “right” in four years, their husbands and fathers (or other male head of house) can still deny them right to leave their home to vote or run for local office, as women in Saudi Arabia are still considered to be the property of their husbands or fathers (this includes the child brides Saudi men are allowed to take)

The fact of the matter is, that Saudi Arabia is far from being a bastion of women’s rights. In fact, their view of “balanced modernization within [their] Islamic values” is right out of the stone ages. In Saudi Arabia women are still beaten, still maimed, still disfigured, still hung, still stoned, still shot, and still beheaded. That aspect of Saudi “balanced modernization” hasn’t changed one bit in the last 1400 years. So although everyone is clapping and slapping Saudi Arabia on the back for its “reformed thinking,” my BS meter is pegging in the red over this.

Women’s rights? Yeah. You’ve come a long way baby!

Saudi Arabia is still a wahabbi controlled country ruled by a monarchy and governed by shariah law, and as such is still an anti-women’s rights, anti-human rights, anti-freedom, anti-liberty, and anti-America country. This whole thing is nothing more than a public relations scam designed to make people forget the truth about them, and start thinking what a wonderful group of people they are. Sorry to burst your bubble folks, but you need to put the party favors away.

Mail Call for September 12, 2011

Mail’s in!

Dear Jimmy Carter: You are absolutely correct (well mostly) when you say that under your administration “we never dropped a bomb. We never fired a bullet. We never went to war.” (Source) You seem, however, to have forgotten that you did facilitate the fall of the Shah of Iran (our ally) and the subsequent rise to power of one of the most dangerous megalomaniacal terrorist regimes in the history of the world. And need I remind you that you also facilitated the rise of al qaeda, the Taliban, and other fundamentalist orthodox muslim terrorist groups which directly led to the attacks on 9/11, by arming them and teaching them military tactics, as well as instructing them in the development and use of chemical and biological weapons. And let’s not forget that you also supported and encouraged Robert Mugabe’s dictatorial rise to power in Rhodesia, as well as the rise to power of Marxist Sandanista Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua. And, although your are no longer president, you continue to support the communist dictator regimes of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. As icing on the cake of death and destruction which you have baked, you gave North Korea $4 billion worth of light water reactors and $100 million in oil in an attempt to appease Kim Jung Il and on his “promise” that he would not develop nuclear weapons (which they now have, thank you very much). (Source)

No Mr. Carter, we never dropped a bomb, we never fired a bullet, we never went to war. But you, on the other hand, are directly responsible through your actions both as president, and since leaving office, for the millions of bullets being fired, thousands of bombs being dropped, and scores of wars all resulting in the deaths of millions worldwide, including right here in America. Helluva legacy Jimmy my boy. Helluva legacy.

Dear Valerie Jarrett: It is time to accept reality. As you say, there is no jobs bill. But believing in the fantasy that Obama is going to somehow magically draft one is ridiculous. I suspect he will cobble together something that sounds remotely good, and then fill in the blanks once he manages to convince congress to pass it. Rest assured, however, it will fail as his other bills and policies have. (Source)

Dear President Obama: I realize you would like to have everyone commemorate 9/11 by engaging in community service. However, you should understand that photo ops are not considered community service. Just so you know. (Source)

Dear Hugo Chavez: Go for it my man! Oh yeah! I cannot encourage you enough to continue on your current path to curing your cancer. So please, keep visiting the witch doctors, shamans, faith healers, and your local botanica! Maybe you can take your buddy Fidel with you on one of your visits.  (Source)

Dear Debbie Wasserman Shultz: Actually, with nationwide unemployment over 9% and with the federal government now saying that it will remain there until at least 2014 (actual unemployment numbers are higher), and with 46 million Americans now receiving food stamps, and with companies failing left and right (including Obama’s baby – Solyndra), yeah, I think I can say the stimulus didn’t work. By the way, just like Anthony Weiner, you are a putz. Just so you know. (Source)

Dear United Nations: I hate to say I told you so, but, well, I did. (Source)

Dear OIC: Thank you for reiterating your condoning of terrorism. At least we know where you stand, and that we can continue to look forward to continuing terror attacks, each of which will occur with your blessing and encouragement. (Source)

cc: The World

Dear Aman Ali: Of course you should not condemn something you condone. Why be hypocritical? (Source)

Dear President Obama: Bwahahahahaha! Sorry. Now adjust your kufi, it’s crooked. (Source)

Dear AlGore: Does this mean you’ve purchased the Trinity Broadcasting Company? Just so you know, I don’t buy what they’re selling either. (Source)

Dear Paul Krugman: Welcome to the Anthony Weiner Fan Club, you will be receiving your official club membership card and t-shirt soon. (Source)

Dear President Obama: You might want to find a different document forger. The one you currently have isn’t producing as well as you may have originally thought. (Source)

Mail Call for September 11, 2011

Mail’s in! Only one letter today.

Dear allah: Today is September 11, 2011. I suppose I don’t have to tell you the significance of this date, but I will. Today is the tenth anniversary of an unprovoked horrendous attack on my country, America, by your followers, and I curse them and I curse you, just as I did on September 11, 2001 and every day since then. I curse your fundamentalist orthodox followers because of what they did to my country, what they are doing to my country, and what they are doing all over the world.

I curse you because they are doing it in your name, and they base their reasoning on the writings of mohammed (gewad ibn himar), as supposedly dictated by you through the angel Gabriel (however, since you don’t actually exist and the words were dictated by satan himself – but let’s not let the facts stand in the way of this letter, shall we). In your name, your devout followers engage in unprovoked terrorist attacks worldwide, primarily targeting innocent men, women, and children – including babies. In your name your devout followers celebrate ashura by taking a knife and cutting open the heads of children, again including babies. In your name, your devout followers engage in imperialistic colonialism, and then hypocritically condemn others for being in their various countries.

Your devout followers practice female circumcision and female genital mutilation, all in your name. In your name your devout followers commit murder in the name of so-called “honor.” Where is the honor in shooting, stabbing, hanging, and beating your family members to death? These are the acts of cowardly dogs, therefore there is no honor in what they do. In your name your devout followers relegate women to the role of subservient second class citizens, and condone the rape of innocent girls – and then kill them because they were forcibly raped. Again, all in the name of honor.

In your name, your devout followers engage in homosexual pedophilia, victimizing hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent little boys each year. In your name, your devout followers relegate all non-muslims to the role of subservient second class citizens. At least those that are not murdered outright.

It is said, by your followers, that you are a merciful god, and a loving god, and that yours is a religion of peace. To that I say, hogwash! Yours is not a religion of peace. It is an oppressive, murderous, sinful cult spawned from the very depths of hell, and out of the very mouth of satan. And if you do not like what I am saying, tough. Live with it, because I will not change, nor will I cower behind small children as your devout followers do.

If your devout followers wish to declare a fatwa against me because of what I say, I say fine. Bring it on. But have your devout followers grow a set and do their own fighting. Do not allow them to hide behind small children and mentally disabled people that they strap bombs to, as is their current practice. You, allah, are nothing but a dog, not a god (I suspect ol’ mohammed was dyslexic), and your devout followers, including mohammed (gewad ibn himar), are nothing but dogs themselves. And in the canine world, they would be the equivalent of Chihuahua’s, constantly shaking in fear and peeing themselves when confronted by a superior force, just as you would do, and will do, when confronted by the One True God.

Now normally I would take this opportunity to remind Anthony Weiner that he is still a putz, but this is about you, allah, or should I call you anubis. Yes, I think I will call you anubis. The Egyptian dog god. Yes. It is by far more fitting a name for you. You can take your fundamentalist orthodox devoted followers and your oppressive murderous satanic cult of death and shove it straight up your wahabbi where it came from and where it belongs.

September 11, 2001. We will never forget. We will never forgive. We will never submit.

Better Watch What You Say, “Islamophobia” may soon be Illegal

There may come a time in the not too distant future when blogs such as Creeping Sharia, Jihad Watch, Atlas Shrugs, Zilla of the Resistance, and others, including the Independent Realist, may be outlawed. At least if President Obama has his way. The Obama administration is now working hand in glove with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to implement a worldwide U.N. resolution to ban what they call “religious stereotyping” specifically as it applies to islam. All I can say is, I will stop exposing the lies, deceit and danger of islam only when they pry my keyboard from my cold dead fingers.

Madman With A Gun

Remember Jared Loughner? The nut job down in Arizona who pulled a gun and shot several people including a young girl, a judge and a congresswoman? The hue and cry from the left was loud and clear – “How could this mentally ill man get a weapon? He was a known danger to society and yet he was allowed to purchase a weapon! In order to protect us all WE MUST BAN ALL GUNS!” They rattled their political sabers, and they huffed and puffed and beat on their chests all because one lone whackadoodle went on a rampage. That moment in Arizona was a terrifying moment to be sure, and something must be done to protect the citizenry from loons in our country.

But I wonder where the hue and cry is when someone like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the official Oofty McGoofty of Iran gets his hands on nuclear weapons? I wrote about the possibility of this happening back in July of this year (click here to read that article), and now it appears that there is “credible evidence” (as noted by the U.N.) that this is exactly what Ahmadamnutjob is working on. And yet, where is the hue and cry? Where is the demand for protection from the left (or anywhere else for that matter)? The U.N. wants to inspect the Iranian facilities where they suspect he is creating nuclear warhead material, the nut job says no, and the U.N. backs down. Ever get that feeling of Déjà vu?

Ron Paul Needs A Lesson in the History of Islam

Ron Paul seems to think that 9/11 was caused by America. He says the motivation for the attacks came from America being in the Middle East, specifically in those countries like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and others which support terrorists and terrorism. I say the motivation for the attacks came from the koran, and from nowhere else. To support this, I offer this little history lesson on just what the koran has caused over the centuries. The first article in this little history lesson is called “The Muslim PR Game Called ‘The Crusades’.”

The muslim PR game called “The Crusades”

(Note: In order to give credit where credit is due, this article was written by Armin Vamberian and Robert Sibley. It is reprinted here by permission of Mr. Vamberian.)

The Muslim Game:

Muslims love talking about the Crusades, and Christians love apologizing for them. To hear both parties tell the story, one would believe that Muslims were just peacefully minding their own business in lands that were legitimately Muslim, when Christian armies decided to wage holy war and “kill millions.”

The Truth:

Every part of this myth is a lie. By the rules that Muslims claim for themselves, the Crusades were perfectly justified, and the excesses (though beneath Christian standards) pale in comparison with the historical treatment of conquered populations at the hands of Muslims.

The crusades are quite possibly the most misunderstood event n European history.

The Crusades were in every way a defensive war. They were a direct response to Muslim aggression — an attempt to turn back or defend against Muslim conquests of Christian lands.

The West may now dominate the Islamic world, but that has only been the case since the late 18th century, when a young general, Napoleon Bonaparte, conquered Egypt and temporarily imposed French rule. This initial European penetration into one of the heartlands of Islam was “a terrible shock” to Muslims, says historian Bernard Lewis. Until then, they had thought of themselves as the victors in the Crusades.

That assumption is understandable. Muslim rulers held the preponderance of power as far as Europe was concerned until the 17th century and had done so, more or less, since the Prophet Muhammad issued Islam’s initial declaration of war against other religious faiths in the seventh century. The Prophet wrote the Christian Byzantine emperor and the Sassanid emperor of Persia to suggest they surrender to his rule because, well, their day was done.

“I have now brought God’s final message,” the Prophet declared. “Your time has passed. Your beliefs are superseded. Accept my mission and my faith or resign or submit … you are finished.”

This claim propelled the armies of Islam to take on the rest of the world.

Muslim armies charged out of the Arabian Peninsula to conquer Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Egypt — all of which, as part of the late Roman Empire, were officially Christian. By the eighth century, Christian North Africa was under Muslim control.

Islam soon swept into Europe, grabbing Spain, Portugal and southern Italy. In the 11th century, the Seljuk Turks conquered much of Asia Minor, or Turkey.

Here are some quick facts about the Crusades:

The first Crusade began in 1095, 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443 after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople, 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians. By the time the Crusades finally began, Muslim armies had conquered two-thirds of the Christian world.

Europe had been harassed by Muslims since the first few years following Muhammad’s death. As early as 652, Muhammad’s followers launched raids on the island of Sicily, waging a full-scale occupation 200 years later that lasted almost a century and was punctuated by massacres, such as that at the town of Castrogiovanni, in which 8,000 Christians were put to death. In 1084, ten years before the first crusade, Muslims staged another devastating Sicilian raid, burning churches in Reggio, enslaving monks and raping an abbey of nuns before carrying them into captivity.

In theory, the Crusades were provoked by the harassment of Christian pilgrims from Europe to the Holy Land, in which many were kidnapped, molested, forcibly converted to Islam or even killed. (Compare this to Islam’s justification for slaughter on the basis of Muslims being denied access to the Mecca pilgrimage in Muhammad’s time).

The Crusaders only invaded lands that were Christian. They never attacked Saudi Arabia or sacked Mecca as the Muslims had done (and continued doing) to Italy and Constantinople.

The period of Crusader “occupation” (of its own former land) was stretched over less than two centuries. The Muslim occupation is in its 1,372nd year.

The period of Crusader “aggression” compresses to about 20 years of actual military campaign, much of which was spent on organization and travel. (They were from 1098-1099, 1146-1148, 1188-1192, 1201-1204, 1218-1221, 1228-1229, and 1248-1250).

By comparison, the Muslim Jihad against the island of Sicily alone lasted 75 grinding years.

Christian Europe certainly fought back. In the eighth century, campaigns to recover the Iberian Peninsula began, but it wasn’t until the end of the 15th century that the Reconquista swept Islam out of Spain and Portugal. Other counterattacks were made, the most famous of which were the war-pilgrimages known as the Crusades.

In 1095, Pope Urban II called for the First Crusade. He urged Europeans to aid fellow Christians who were being slaughtered by Muslims. “They (the Muslim Turks) have invaded the lands of those Christians and have depopulated them by the sword, pillage and fire; they have lead away a part of the captives into their own country, and a part they have destroyed by cruel tortures.”

The Crusader army marched deep into enemy territory to reclaim the ancient Christian cities of Nicaea and Antioch, and on July 15, 1099, Jerusalem.

Admittedly it wasn’t a pleasant reclamation. As was standard practice when a city resisted, much of population was slaughtered. That, however, doesn’t mean the threat to which the Crusades were a response wasn’t real.

The Crusades were a response to more than four centuries of conquests in which Muslims had already captured two-thirds of the old Christian world. At some point, Christianity as a faith and a culture had to defend itself or be subsumed by Islam.

Unfortunately, subsequent Crusades over the next three centuries weren’t as successful. By the end of the 13th century, the Christian Crusaders had been chased from the Middle East. From then on the concern was no longer about reclaiming Christian homelands, but about saving Europe.

In 1453, Muslims captured the capital of the Byzantine Empire, Constantinople (or Istanbul, as it is now known). In the late 15th century, Rome was evacuated when Muslim armies landed at Otranto in an unsuccessful invasion of Italy. By the 16th century, the Ottoman Turk Empire stretched from North Africa and Arabia to the Near East and Asia Minor. They penetrated deep into Europe, conquering Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary, Albania, Croatia and Serbia. In 1529, the Ottomans laid siege to Vienna. Luckily for Europe, the siege failed; otherwise the door to Germany would have been open. It wasn’t until 1572, when the Catholic Holy League defeated the Ottoman fleet at Lepanto, that Islam’s threat to the West finally ended, at least until the late 20th century when the doors to Europe were once again opened to Muslims.

Unlike Jihad, the Crusades were never justified on the basis of New Testament teachings. This is why they are an anomaly, the brief interruption of fourteen centuries of relentless Jihad against Christianity that began long before the Crusades and continued well after they were over. Islam unquestionably won the Crusades, even though Europe was ultimately able to reassert itself and dominate the world. The reasons for this success are much debated, but it’s reasonable to conclude that the West won the war of ideas.

Notions of individualism and freedom, capitalism and technology, and, most of all, the West’s turn from theology to science, carried the day. Religion became in the West an essentially private concern. It is on this “modern” turn that the anti-Crusade attitude developed.

During the Protestant Reformation, when the authority of the Catholic church was under attack, the Crusades began to be regarded as a ploy by power-hungry Popes and land-hungry aristocrats. This judgment was extended by the Enlightenment philosophers, who used the Crusades as a cudgel with which to beat the church.

The Enlightenment view of the Crusades still holds sway. After the Second World War, with western intellectuals feeling guilty about imperialism and European politicians desperate to abandon colonial responsibilities, the Crusades became intellectually unfashionable.

Historian Steven Runciman reflected this attitude in his three-volume study, A History of the Crusades, published in the early 1950s. He cast the Crusades as “morally repugnant acts of intolerance in the name of God.”

Almost single-handedly Runciman managed to define the modern popular view of the Crusades.

The greatest crime of the Crusaders was the sacking of Jerusalem, in which30,000 people were said to have been massacred. This number is dwarfed by the number of Jihad victims, from India to Constantinople and Narbonne, but Muslims have never apologized for their crimes and never will.

What is called ‘sin and excess’ by other religions, is what Islam refers to as the will of Allah.
